All charger manufacturers recommend that their units are maintained and their warranty’s may be invalidated if it is found they have not been properly serviced.
A majority of EV chargers do not have many moving parts, but the charger cables, sockets and socket covers can get worn and damaged over time through use and electrical connections can deteriorate, so it is worth getting the charger inspected regularly to identify any potential issues before they become a major problem which may cause the charger to stop working altogether.
Our annual maintenance service includes the following:
- Full function and performance testing
- Exterior and internal inspection of the charger for any
water ingress, damaged or worn components - Inspect the charging cable / socket for wear or
damage and any other accessible parts of the unit - Cleaning of the unit
- Inspection of the supply cable to the charger, where
possible - Testing and inspection of the circuit control equipment
including any RCD and Surge Protection Devices
(SPD) connected. - Checking the unit has all the latest software/firmware
updates installed - Provision of a certificate verifying the testing and
inspection
If an annual contract is taken out we will also offer one call-out per year, we will aim to attend within 36 hours and endeavour to get your charger working during the visit.
We will also offer discounts off the servicing of any additional charger at the address, and discounts off new chargers and charger accessories.
